Experience the intersection of AI and 3D printing with 3D:Mix. In collaboration with Koushin, a Tokyo-based company, this project builds on our previous Remix initiative to transform AI-generated landscapes into 3D-printed vases. By integrating depth-mapped images of landscapes and liquid paintings, we have translated abstract visuals into functional, three-dimensional forms.
Throughout the development process, we created multiple prototypes, refining the design to achieve both aesthetic appeal and practical usability. Each iteration helped us adjust details such as texture, form, and material properties, ensuring a well-balanced final piece. After testing various approaches, we settled on a design that maintains a strong visual identity while being structurally sound and functional.
To highlight the project’s connection to natural elements, we photographed the vases in outdoor settings. These images emphasize how the design is influenced by organic shapes and textures, reinforcing the link between digital fabrication and natural inspiration.
Stay connected for more updates as we continue to explore new possibilities in AI-assisted design and 3D printing.
